Trudy Staalman
Handicapped does not Mean Limit on Potentials
Trudy Staalman
She and her husband have totally devoted their lives to working with handicapped people. She believes that although the handicapped people might have lost something, but they have equal potential to other people. Society should not push them away and most of the cases are simply because the society is not familiar with them. This applies to other “groups” of people been pushed away only because they are not known and the society is not making effort to know them.
In 1989, she started volunteering at local orphanages in Guiyang. From 1992 onwards, this became her main vocation. Since then, she increasingly sought to work for handicapped children and young people, to help them reach their given potential.
