United in Diversity

May 15, 2022

In today’s public life, you might often feel like you’re being swept up in an unstoppable tide of information. One push after another pops up in front of you—so you scroll, skim, and move on. But in doing so, you rarely have the time, the focus, or even the desire to truly talk with others— even when the subject at hand affects you directly.

As a result, silence, avoidance, defensiveness, and division often become our go-to reactions. We instinctively click on what we already agree with, and through fast scrolling, our beliefs grow stronger and more fixed. In a world where space for meaningful communication is shrinking, it’s fair to ask: is dialogue still possible?

This event invites you to rediscover the meaning of dialogue. Together, we’ll examine what’s standing in its way, imagine what might still be possible, and reflect on what each of us needs—in both ability and attitude—to step back into real, human conversation.
